DESCRIPTION:Dear Colleague\, \nThis is to announce the forthcoming XXI CISSN 2024 – Catania International Summer School of Neuroscience 2024  (July 15-19\, 2024) organized by Prof. Filippo Drago\, Chairman of the PhD Program in Neuroscience\, University of Catania\, under the scientific direction of Prof. Giuseppe Di Giovanni\, focused on “Memory deficit and Dementia: Advancements in Physiology and Treatment Hope”.The CISSN will offer a high level\, intensive educational program carried out by an excellent international faculty to 40 Ph.D. students\, postdoc fellows and residency’s students in Neuropsychopharmacology\, Neurology\, Psychiatry and Geriatrics. \nThe main aim of the CISSN 2024 is to bring together junior European fellows and expert investigators working on different aspects of Memory deficit and Dementia to provide a forum for new directions and ideas in this emerging clinical field. The meeting will combine research lectures by leading neuroscientists from Europe and aims to encourage active discussions and exchange of information and ideas between seniors and young fellows. \nThe deadline for application is June 10\, 2024 \nApplicants can be junior scientists (PhD students and Post-Doc fellows or residency’s students) beginning their careers in the field of Neuroscience (Neuropsychopharmacology\, Neurology\, Psychiatry\, Geriatrics). Registration is limited to 40 participants. Admission to CISSN will be on a first come\, first served basis.\nFurthermore\, 2 attendees will be selected on the basis of their CV to be awarded a € 500 grant (VAT and taxes included) to support their participation to the School. Moreover\, the Mediterranean Neuroscience Society  https://www.medneuroscisociety.org/ offers two fellowships of €600 each to young scientists who are members of the MNS. \nApplicants excluded from the list of attendees of CISSN 2024 will be included in the priority list for the CISSN 2025. \nThe registration fee is € 600 (VAT excluded). This amount covers: \n\ntuition fee and accompanying materials\nlodging at the School venue for 5 nights (from July 14 to July 19\, 2024)\nlunches and one social dinner.\n\nStudents will be assigned double-triple rooms (two or three beds) based on gender and age. \nIn addition\, the organizers will provide transfer between Catania International Airport and the venue\, trying to cover as many students as possible.
